Overview

For foundation pits behind residential areas where blasting is prohibited, the combination of a DEVELON DX680HD large excavator with heavy-duty breaker and a DX380 hydraulic splitter enables safe, low-vibration, high-efficiency excavation of hard granite.

The challenge

• The site is adjacent to residential buildings, so explosives are strictly prohibited.
• Dense, high-hardness granite requires a faster and more controlled method than conventional equipment.
• The project must balance efficiency, noise control and safety for nearby residents.

Recommended configuration

• DEVELON DX680HD: 331 kW SCANIA engine, twin main pumps, 220 heavy-duty breaker, reinforced boom and arm, and 64 t operating weight for stable breaking.
• DX380 hydraulic splitter: static hydraulic splitting along the rock texture with no shock wave, flying rock or uncontrolled vibration.

Working process

1. Drill holes according to the splitting layout.
2. Insert the DX380 splitter and expand the granite with controlled hydraulic pressure.
3. Use the DX680HD breaker to reduce the split rock to the required size.
4. Load and haul directly with controlled noise and full site compliance.
